A touching to the heart story of Rimi, a little girl living on a kibbutz, Moshav and Tel Aviv. You meet her family, friends and even her baby cow that grew up that had an experience that would make anyone cry!. Rimi is talented. She had adventures that surprised me, some scary. She was brave!. Sometimes she had hurts and other times joy! Rimi loves singing and learned songs quickly, just hearing, even in another language. God's creation heard her singing and she was never bashful singing to a group. Learn a little what farming was like with her family and when the sky came dark one day, and what happened. She was Abba's little beloved girl. She was so loyal to her brother, he must really love her to this day! When reading I felt I was in the family with tears, singing, laughing and of course there were some heartbreaks, She honored her Emah and Abba.. More suspense at the end of the story as Rimi drives down to where she gets news that is for the reader to find out. You will love her! . Bless her L-RD!
This is the story of a winsome little girl and how the love of her Father sustained her in a life filled with loss. It is not a modern story of a family with PC behavior, but it IS the story of amazing group of characters.
I finished the book in one sitting, hungry to understand a culture and people-groups that impact our world today. The author creates clear and colorful pictures of her family and of life in the early years of the state of Israel. I learned so much. I liked the inclusion of people whose opinions and behavior were extreme and unique.
This story has the ability to stir up many different emotions-some of them very conflicting, but the author handles them well, drawing the reader into her life-story. I learned so much and I am grateful I stumbled on this wonderful memoir it has enriched my understanding of cultures important to our world. I REALLY enjoyed learning about this amazing woman and her quirky family. I wish I could have known her Father his love for her is what I believe we all desire to experience.

I don’t usually write book reviews. With I Hate to Say Goodbye, by Ruti Yudovich, I felt that I had to share my experience.
This book is so authentically, well written rich story with such deep emotional and sweet in broad scope of life. It is well written, very vividly that more than once, I felt as if I was part of it, going through with her through wild ride of emotional levels, go all out helping her and the characters and relive my childhood. Beautifully and uniquly detailed.
It is sooo easy to read and a great page turner.
In fact, I was so involved in it that I i didn't want it to finish!
Great plot with an amazing free spirit.
Looking forward for her next one.

I really loved this book! It is very fun, light, alive, and never a dull moment.
I read it little by little, enjoying every moment.
The main character, Rimi, is an adorable girl that I got to love, because she is so smart, so aware of things, and so there, unlike other kids her age. I just couldn't believe how such a young girl was able to think the way she did, and I loved her. So sane, and at the same time, such a brat. And this is a real story and a real person! And she goes through life observing and learning lessons which she writes about beautifully.
Closer to the end I started reading more until I got done. Every chapter was very enjoyable and was kind of like a "feel good" type of movie. The last one really touched me and made me cry a little.
I have been in Israel so I had reality with many of the things she was talking about, so that was nice for me.
I really recommend this book very much.
